Elder Ronald Rasbands talk in General Conference was a call to “seasoned” members of the church to serve as missionaries, as emissaries for the Lord in bringing others to Christ. He said the following…

“You are a remarkable force for good, seasoned in the Church, and poised to encourage and rescue God’s children.

A mission might be the greatest chapter in a couple’s life.

As an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, I ask you to serve as a missionary in the gathering of Israel and perhaps even serve again.“

We have been out 5 months and my heart overflows with gratitude for this experience. We love these sisters and elders deeply as we see how the Lord shows His hand in this great work. Our mission leaders, President and Sister John are inspired, led and directed as they lead this mission of 180+ missionaries. Currently we have 26 senior missionaries, some serving part time and others full time, but all are needed and we wish we had more to go around!!

But this is the reason we really love serving… plus 180 others!

These young people have stolen and expanded my heart as I watch them serve the Lord with all their heart, might, mind, and strength. They teach and live the doctrine of Christ and bring others to a knowledge and love of the Savior. They watch continually for the miracles they have been promised and recognize His hand when they appear. Miracle moments are a part of their everyday lives.

This is the Lord’s work. He is in the details. This is His gospel and we share His truth and His covenant path is the road we choose. We walk it together in inviting others to Christ.
